We've shifted our firstVillage SCDay at the Moviesto the Capitola Theater, since several of us were in agreement that we wanted to see the movie, The Post and Capitola Theater is where it will be playing nextWednesday, Jan 31.

The movie starts at 1:30 so show up a little early and we'll meet beforehand, in front by the ticket booth. Each individual should purchase their own ticket ($7.50 senior matinee). Purchasing ahead assures you good seating but maybe not next to others. Those who wait to purchase on the way in can try to get seats together.

Following the movie we'll gather at the theater cafe, for a discussion that promises to be lively. The Post is based on events we all may recall. Where were we living andwhat are our recollections of the event? And what is the revelance of this movie in today's world?

Steven Spielberg directs Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks this thrilling drama about the unlikely partnership between The Washington Post's Katharine Graham (Streep), the first female publisher of a major American newspaper, and editor Ben Bradlee (Hanks), as they race to catch up with The New York Times to expose a massive cover-up of government secrets that spanned three decades and four U.S. Presidents.

The two must overcome their differences as they risk their careers - and their very freedom - to help bring long-buried truths to light. The Postmarks the first time Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg have collaborated on a project.
