Field Trip to Big Basin State Park

We will meet in the parking lot.
The day-use-only reservation system will provide public access to a limited area of the fire-damaged park. Visitors will be able to explore the Redwood Loop, Dool Trail, and access about 18 miles of fire roads near the historic park core. Services at Big Basin will be extremely limited. Due to ongoing safety concerns following the devastating CZU Fire in August 2020, the majority of Big Basin remains closed to the public.

Reservations must be made at least one day in advance. Entry is $6, plus a $2 reservation fee and will provide day-long access to the park.  Initially, 45 parking spots and 4 disabled spots will be offered daily. Pre-registration is required and can be made up to 60 days in advance. Fifteen percent of spots will be released three days in advance for more spontaneous plans. No day-of, parking spaces will be available. Read parks FAQ page for more information
